Hi,

Is anyone else having aol probs?
I keep getting a 'no PPP connection' error message ( I don't know what it means)
I wondered if it was a trick to get me to go Broadband.

I've sometimes had that error message too :( and i'm also with AOL.
i don't know what it means either; hopefully someone will be along later to enlighten us both :)

I had this a few weeks back . It took me AGES to connect and i was getting the same message . When i finally managed to get a connection it would go off again after a few minutes . It was soooo frustrating . I too thought it was a ploy to get me to convert to Broadband but was determined I wasnt going to be bullied into it .
In the end I went into AOL services and left an email , saying I was having trouble trying to connect and I had had enough and that I was going to terminate my membership and go with BT .
Without being a cynic I have had no trouble since then . I swear- its all been fine since then - I connect first time and the connection stays on without any problem :)
I remember watching a programme some while ago were it was shown that another Internet server was actually limiting time etc to members in an effort to get them to change to Broadband .
Have a go at leaving a message.

Hi All,
Eventually, I rang AOL. A very nice Irish chap ( I love Irish accents !!!) gave me a new access number. Since then I have had no bother. However, I did sign up for a free trial of broadband, they are giving the modem free at the moment and you casn have a weeks free trial. If you don't want it you can return the modem and pay nothing. ( Its the Irish accent that did it, I'm such a push over :D)
Anyway, in the meantime AOL is back and my only problem now is Ma Parker!!
Annie :)
