Anyone been to Lego Land, if so would you reccomend it? What age group does it suit?
Would you suggest staying in a hotel or traveling down, I live in B'ham?

Thanks for any help?

Hi,

I live about 20mins from LegoLand I travel to my parents in Stafford for the day without any problems so I wouldn't worry about staying overnight down here.

LegoLand is great for kids up to about 8 or 9 I'd say - my oldest is 7 and he loves it but some friends of ours have children aged 9 and 10 and they're just a bit too old for it now. My youngest is 2.5 and she can go on most of the bits and she really enjoys it as well. It's a great place, but VERY expensive for what there is there. It costs about £70 for 2 adults and 2 children and there's a huge shop there as well so it's very easy to spend even more money.

If you do come down then have a look at the website and plan your visit - you can also prebook your tickets which will save some money. Bring your own food and drink as well, it's very expensive to eat there but there's plenty of space to sit and eat so it's not a problem with a picnic.

Depending on the queues you can be in and out in about 6 hours having seen everything and been on the rides - the water thing has been redesigned and you'll get soaked so make sure you have spare clothes and a towel!! There are lockers just inside the entrance and you can hire a buggy as well rat her than bring your own if needs be. If you do that make sure the little one has something comfy to lean on as the buggies are a bit hard and basic.

When are you thinking of going? We're off there in a couple of weeks so we'll let you know what it's like if you want? We go during the week and outside of the school holidays as it's a lot quieter.

HTH,

Fiona

Ah, Thanks for the info, they are 9 and 10 (11 in a few days) so I might give it a miss, a neighbour took their children down and came back raving as kids do now they want to go but the neighbours kids are 6,7 and 9.

Ah well maybe the american adventure instead or maybe a day out at Warwick castle.

Thanks for the advice though I will bear it in mind.

Florence was about nine when she went and she thought it was really boring ! She was never really into Lego though which might have something to do with it ! That is all I played with when I was a little girl. It kept me occupied for hours ! Little things please little minds and all that ! LOL :)

Warwick Castle is a good place to go !

Warwick Castle is great (if pricey) especially for boys of Primary School age.

You can't beat Alton Towers though!

would agree that Alton towers would probably be the best choice for your age group ,
