Can anyone give me some tips on crat training my nearly 8 week puppy, the crate came yesterday which we set up and left in the living room with the door open and her blanket in there along with her water bowl, when it was feed time i put her in with the food (door open) and she ate happily then came right out. Do you think i should leave her in there now whilst i am out. I know she is going to cry.
I would appreciate some help with this pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Hi there :) If you use the Search facility and type in CRATE you can find quite a few threads that may help :)

Hi - there is lots of info in the search but as she is still young -try putting her in when shes tired and close the door and leave the room ,make it nice and warm and snuggly for her ,and persevre -it works for some but not all -I think its a godsend and wouldn't be without it :D

I put her in there this afternoon with her blankets and she has been asleep for about 30 mins hopefully she will stay asleep or even quite until i get back from school at 3.20pm, fingers crossed.

We used to leave the door open on the crate and put no pressure on Gus to use it . It had his toys in .
He never really bothred but at night time he goes in now for a bit of peace and quiet of his own accord :)
