my 2 year old dogue duke has just had an op for twisted gut. he is now very thin at 47kgs. can any one give me advice on a good food to put him on to build him up. also how many times a day should you feed a large breed and can raising his food bowl help stop him getting twisted gut again

Try not to put weight on, feeding him a good balanced diet will gradually get him back in shape. I have not had first hand experience of bloat, but I would think raising his dish will help.

Hi , yes raise his bowl so he can just stand and eat with out bending down and feed him tripe and plain whole meal biscuits not to much to start with and after each feed let him rest for a good hour or so. dont let him drink to much to fast after his walk just a small amount let him rest and then he can have a good drink take it slow we have had bloat with some of our Bullmastiffs over the years, giving a spoonful of mint over his food will also help best of luck jackie.:-)
