hi i was ust wondering if any one could help me with a possible preg bitch. she would be about 4 weeks along and is already showing some signs that she may be expecting is this normal at 4 weeks or is this more enclined to be a phantom as i cant seem to get a clear answere also wher and how would i be able to find the marble like apperences at this time as i have felt and cant find them. i did however fill what i presume to be milk sacks around her mammerys witch are alredy quite large some more than others i was thinking of leaving the first vet visit to six weeks to get a better idear if this is a phantom or not

It is verey difficult to tell if a bitch is pregnant, even the vets get it wrong. The bitch often shows physical and emotional changes, but there can be indications of a phantom. At 4 to 5 weeks you can get a scan done, however these are only a good as the operative! and can give false negatives. We use an animal scannig specialist who has been correct the two scans she did for us. If you can find a animal scan specialist who does pigs you should get a failry reliable result (anyone who can count 16 piglets must be fairly competent!)
All the best
