I have a seven year old Gordon Setter who is slightly overweight. I have put her on a low-fat diet and she has refused to eat. She hasn't had more than a handful in over two weeks...will this hurt her? Help!! i am worried about her

Apart from not eating too good how is her health otherwise ? Is she still as lively ? Does she still have that sparkle in her eye ? Have you taken her to your vet for a check up ? Just wondering is she is not happy with her new food or is she sickening for something.

Thank you for your reply...she never was "lively" she still gets excited about going for a walk or a ride and she jumps up on the bed to sleep, but she never really ran around much, even as a puppy. I think she just doesn't like the way the food tastes or smells....I have an appointment for her next week....i just don't know how long it is okay for her not to eat anything.

What happens if you offer her what she was used to getting ? Will she eat that and perhaps if she does could you just cut down the amount she is getting before weaning her onto a low fat diet.
