can ou tell me anything abut long haired bassett hounds. my bassett has longer than normal hair and a thicker coat than most i have seen. any informatioon about how this happens would be appeciated.

As far as I know, unless it's a genetic mutation, a long-haired Basset isn't a pure-bred Basset.

OK, we are talking ordinary Bassett here, not PBGV or GBGV, both of whom have longer, coarser hair, (Petit Basset & Grand Bassett)?
