Hi, I am considering breeding my Springer spaniel bitch, But I'm really worried about the responsibility of finding good homes, I would like them to go to be as pets or family dogs, as mum has a great nature and is brilliant with kids.
After advice or information on finding suitable homes before commiting to breeding? any body interested? Thanks Sarah

You are right to be concerned, good homes are becoming hard to find. Before you mate your bitch, you have to ask yourselves why you are doing it? Hopefully it is to improve the breed. For that you need to know whether or not your bitch is of breeding quality as well as being a super pet. If you don't successfully show/work her, can you contact her breeder (providing they are reputable breeders!) to discover whther she has any faults (and all dogs have faults) that would rule her out from a breeding programme?
