My husband and I are new to the rottweiler world and have recently built a kennel to house our four rottweilers with room for two more. We have three females and one male. They are all just over a year old and we have not yet had an opportunity to breed them. But I am getting off the subject at hand. Two of our females soil their pens every day even though they are let out on a regular basis to take care of business. The other two are wonderful and will never "go" in their pens. (Each pen has a concrete floor.) HELP!!!! How can we break these two from soiling their pens?

if you are new to the rottweiler world why get 4? why do you want to breed them why not have them as pets? If you have only bought these dogs to breed them i think that you are being cruel. They are not there to make you money, they are there to be loved and to be apprieciated for the wonderful animals that they are.
as to them soiling there pens - how long have they been in their pens?
were they house trained to start off with?
a little more infomation please?
definately don't put newspaper down it will take them longer.

Hello Guest,

Unfortunately I think you have worded your question very badly. It sounds as though you have gone out and bought 4 rotties just to breed. This will not go down well with many people. You have also said that you have not yet had an opportunity to breed them ( thank god ) Rottweilers should not be bred until they are at least 2yrs and then only after they have been hipscored and had all the other relevant tests for the breed.
I don't really understand the question (I could just be having a thick moment) but do you want to stop your dogs from messing in there bed part and to use there run instead? Please register and explain alittle more and I'm sure someone will be along to help.

To be honest, if they are soiling their pens they are not being let out enough for them. Each dog is different, and some need to go more often than others.

You say you are going to breed these dogs. How do you know that they are good enough to breed from? Are they hipscored? Are they eye-tested? Have they done well in shows? And if you are going to use your male on all your bitches, does his pedigree 'blend' well with all of them, or are you just going to take 'pot luck'?

I think you may be approaching this from the wrong direction.
