the dog we rescued---her vulva area is getting puffy between her vulva and her rectum.
We can feel the puppies moving around and see it across the room. we can feel the bones and everything it's VERY NEAT.
HOW do i know for sure how far along. We have been to two vets one we love andone we don't and have gotten two different answers.
BUt if she's getting puffy down there isn't that a sign she's close??
ALSO she has milk in the teats and nesting behaviour.
I am getting sick to my stomach over this. I want to be prepared.
Her temps vary so much there is no way to tell if it has dropped or not.
PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME

I'm afraid if you don't know the dates of mating, it's probably impossible to say exactly how far along she is, I had my girl scanned, my vet told me she was 7 days further along than I knew she was, she only had one mating so it could have been a few days out but not a week. But all the signs you say she is showing certainly means she not far off, just watch for signs like stopping eating (not always) but generally 24 hours before they stop eating, they get a real depressed look about them and spend alot of time in their bed. The puffy vulva is also another sign, but my girl was like that for a week before, I'm afraid it's a waiting game one of mine delivered on day 60 the other day 66.

Try and relax or the dog will sense you're tense, Good luck let us know how it goes.

I know jsut relax but it's difficuly cuz this is all new to me and not having raised this dog i am not quite sure how she will react.
Thanks for the support. I just feel so lost.
I want to make sure i am here for her. Her nipples are getting SO FULL with milk.
and she's got the mucus for sure.

Hi
If its any help i measure the tempreture in C` not farenheit and anything belw 37.3 can be a sign! but it normally drops to between 36.8 and 37.1 just before labour shows. The tempreture seems to range between 37.5 and 38.3 normally but as you say it is up and down! My dogs are a largish breed so I dont know if its different in smaller dogs.
My bitch has had boobs full of milk for a week and she has been nest making her tempreture is down today so hopefully it will be action stations tonight!
I hope this helps good luck with the new arrivals when they finally make a appperance!
:) :)

Let me know what happens. Like I said this is driving me and my family crazy. We are afraid to elave her for a long time because if something happens, but that has really cramped our lifestyle. AND i don't want to have osmething happen to her since she's a rescue we obvioulsy want her to do well. Keep me posted as will I. My dogs temp starts most days very low and then ends up high--I CAN"T FIGURE THE TEMP THING OUT HEHE
