Hello all, I have been reading the information and discussions around the vaccs for puppies (oh and by the way please excuse the username it is meant to be Bobbysmum!, I just can't type!).

I am picking up my new boy in under 2 weeks and he will be 7 weeks old. He is a staff and beautiful, anyway I have booked him into the local vets for his first set of jabs, but after reading the information you guys posted should I research into the vets? SHould I shop around on price? or does the price reflect the quality of the vets? I think I have entered a mindfield!!

If you are in an area with many vet practices locally, then by all means shop around. You want to find a good vet and stick with them, to build up a relationship based on trust and your animal's best interests. Think how far you want to travel to the vet in an emergency, out-of-hours. For that I have a choice of 4 or 12 miles. Luckily the vet 4 miles away is fantastic - they may be more expensive, I don't know, I haven't checked - but I wouldn't be swopping anyway!

Reminds me of a friend whose dog slipped his collar on his late night walk near Portsmouth Dockyard. My pal was deeply embarrassed at having to wander round that area shouting "Come here, Sailor"!!!! :D :D

Thanks for the advice on Vets, I greatly appreciate it! I am glad that I have provided amusement for everyone with my bad typing...it is just as well you can't see how embarassed I was and still am a little. Poor ol' boy, I don't think I'll tell him that his name was temporarily changed to Booby!

Hi,

If you send an email to admin@champdogs.co.uk they will change your username for you! That'll save you some further embarrassment! LOL :D
