Having owned and shown for 25+ years I am now ready to plan my first litter. I am considering using Beta weaning food in preference to a mixed diet and wonder if anyone has experience (good or bad) of using this.

Personally I always found Beta gave my pups upset tummies so have stuck to James Wellbeloved

I swear by Arden grange for super bone and very firm poohs right from the word go, it moshes down completely so no chewy bit for tiny pups either. And when its warm it smells really nice too :)
I've used Beta but not for long it gave mine the runs too if they ate a bit too much of it, and when feeding a litter it's hard to regulate each pup, so I found that the greedy ones were always loose.

Thanks for the replies. Do these manufacturers run breeder programs like Beta do? I would be particularly interested in Arden Grange as good bone is one of my priorities.

Hi
Yes Arden Grange run a breeder club and will also deliver to your door, if you join the breeder club for free it works out about £10 cheaper a bag than in the shops so it's well worth it, they also provide free puppy packs for new puppies which are sent dorect to you : which include a pedigree, bag of puppy food, a special rate for the new owner on their first order, so its very good and the bone is brilliant on it.
