Topic Dog Boards / Health / Liver & Kidney disease
- By Holly [gb] Date 20.05.03 11:28 UTC
Holly, my 14 (nearly 15) year old Cocker Spaniel, who was diagnosed with Skin Cancer in February, now has both Liver and Kidney disease. She sleeps most of the day, and only gets up to eat (very little) and go to the toilet. After eating she has funny turns, which the vets say is a result of the liver malfunction.

Has anyone else gone throu this type of situation. The vet want give any indication of how much longer she has to live, but I do not want her to suffer. She is not yet being sick, but is very wobbly on her legs and obviously doesn't have a clue where she is. ( She is also deaf and partially blind)

She will be 15 in August.

Any help or tips would be gratefully received

Sorry to hear about Holly. You will know the right time to say goodbye when it comes to it as you have said you don't want her to suffer. I hope you find the right answer and hope what time you have left with her will be happy.
