Hi
Hmmmm, wont go outside for toilets in the rain! well, u arent alone there, my lot look at me like im bonkers if i dare suggest they go outside in the rain, especially the lurcher, apparently lurchers are allergic to rain!!!!!!! they melt or something.
Just be firm, and patient, eventually she will get the hang of it!!!!! (and, have fun, standing outside in ur pj's in the rain in the middle of the night! we have all been there!)
As to exercise, you shouldnt really be exercising her that much, that getting a bit wet would hurt her, so long as u dry her off properly afterwards.
Dont force a young pup to take too much boring walking about on a lead type exercise. They have soft bones and are still growing.
Just the normal socialisation, lots of playing and training (make it fun, and short sessions only). Pay attention to your pup, and know when she has had enough, try and stop a little before she has had enough exercise. But, dont let the exercise restrictions put you off socialising her with people and other dogs, and also as many wierd and wacky situations as you can. Pick her up if she is going to be tired, but DONT reassure her if she is scared of soemtihng, just ignore it, and carry on as usual, or you will teach her that being afraid is quite rewarding.
Good luck with her, Em
