Topic Dog Boards / General / Eden Project: Parking for Dogs?
- By Harry C. [gb] Date 16.05.03 11:15 UTC
Hi everyone,
Some friends of mine who own an older collie cross and a whippet are going on holiday in a holiday cottage near Tintagel in Cornwall. Whilst there, they hope to be able to spend a day at the 'Eden Project'. Therefore I would be greatful for any information regarding a kennels, or anywhere in that area, that they might be able to put the dogs for one day.
Thanks for any help.

Don't know re. kennels, Harry, but for info the Eden Project have actually thought of dog owners when arranging their parking. They have an amount of sheltered parking, with access to drinking water, etc. which we found more than adequate when we went last year - although to be fair, I do have tailgate guard, etc. so could leave car with a very good air flow. If weather isn't too hot, think they'd probably be fine there, as long as they get there early enough to get one of these spaces - and you do need to get there early, we were staying near there and most days they had signs up by about 11 o'clock saying that EP had it's full amount of visitors and would not accept any more till late afternoon.

How much time to you think you need to see it all M, and can you nip out to the dogs and back in again?

A few hours? - we'd have made sure we weren't too long, as we were conscious of the dogs. Think you can go out to the dogs and back in, but wouldn't swear to it - my other half went out a bit earlier than us and took them for a walk about in the grassy bits near dog car park.

Did ask him to smuggle the dogs back in with him - they're only Rough Collies ;) - they had a meadow bank full of all sorts of wild flowers, would have made a lovely photo with dogs sitting in the middle of it. He wouldn't, though, some people have got no sense of adventure.

After you've been, Par Sands is close by, lovely sandy beach for the dogs to run on.

It does get very busy at EP, and you can't always be sure of getting a space in the shade, they also try discourage taking your dogs, because it does limit the time you can spend wandering around on a hot day.

Thanks Robert,
Will pass on those telephone numbers. Are they the numbers of 'different' boarding kennels?
Can you recommend any of these? or know anyone who has used them?
Regards,
Harry C.

Last year we were in Newquay for 10 days and used Rajarrah Kennels for day boarding, they were recommended by a vet we went to for advice on Boarding in the area they charged £15 a day for 2 Tibetan Mastiffs.

They're all different kennels Harry, I can't recommend them personally, but speaking to tourists, I haven't heard any say they wouldn't use theones they used for day boarding again.

I sometimes look after peoples dogs for the day, but I'm about 30 miles away, down on the Lizard.
