I currently have a bitch of one and a half. Will another bitch be ok to grow up with and live with?

A lot depends on the breed and the natures of the individuals. It's perfectly possible for two bitches to live happily together.

But sometimes it is a disaster and they will try to kill each other.

Hi,

I agree with Jeangenie, it depends a lot on the breed. We have 6 beardie bitches and 1 dog. 1 bitch has mental problems and spends most of her time kept seperate from the others because she is very unpredictable in her behaviour and has aggressive bouts, but all the others live together happily.

The only time we have a few little scraps (and luckily they are small), is when 1 or more are in season at the same time. :)

What breed do you have?

Hi,
I introduced a bitch to my girl, who was a 4 year old dobermann. She had a fantastic temperament with both people and other dogs, so I wasn't worried. From the moment we got Jess, who was a rescue dog, of about 7 years, they became absolutely inseperable. They slept together, walked, played, everything, they were never apart, and not once did they ever, ever quarrel over anything. So much so, that sadly when my dobe was pts, Jess stopped eating and she too had to be pts less than 3 months later. They are now both at rest under a beautiful tree in our garden, side by side.

I have two girlies here a cocker spaniel and yorkie and not having any problems yet thankfully, although I have only they have only been together a few months. apart from the occasionally grumble at Jessie (cocker) for trying to eat her food, the yorkie (poppy) gets on with her great and has been giving her kisses lately cos shes in season... its like the have bonded more recently cos of Jessies season but maybe thats me being silly... :D on the other side Jessie has been sniffing poppys 'bits' a lot recently as if to wonder why shes not going through what she has to.. :D bless!
