Hi All!

I have my new import coming in soon from Sweden under the Pet Travel Scheme, here comes my problem......

Can I fly him on an unapproved route, put him into quarantine and apply for early release? and how long would he have to stay in quarantine if his papers where in order?

I have emailed DEFRA but as yet have not had a reply!
Any help would be great!

The short answer is yes, and I think it is only a day or so in Quarantine.

Unfortunately the DEFFRA site says that is how you would do it, but doesn't say exactly how many days Quarantine.

Tha American dogs that came to Crufts probably did it this way, so anyone out there no for sure???

I just cannot seem to get a straight answer. It will be easier for my dog and I to get a direct flight in to Birmingham or Manchester, than have to change flights to get onto an authorised route and land in London!

I have used the ferry for the Pet Passport Scheme twice this year, with no problems, but feel it`s a bit to much for this journey!
