Taz and Junior got into a fight over a chewbone. Junior decided to attack Taz and take it away. Taz and him got into a scrap (we seperated them and put all toys away, they are fine now so toys only when we allow) and now Junior has a very sore eye. His eye ball has a scrape on it almost in the middle of the eye and is kinda bluish for what I can see, it is weeping a greenish discharge. I have been wiping it with a warm cloth and putting in polysporin in and on his eye and the discharge isn't as bad now. His cheek is swollen a bit too. I tried to get him into the vet and can't till monday, I'm waiting for her to call me back if she has time since she is really booked up. He barely opens his eye and pretty much keeps it shut (I can see y his eye is pretty sore). Its a little red but seems to be getting a little better since this all happened friday night. I noticed it was worse this morning (saturday) with the discharge and now its 3:16pm and the discharge isn't as bad and he opens it a little more then he was. The polysporin is working as far as I can tell.
Is there anything I should be doing, what else could I put in his eye, do u think his eye will make it or will he end up blind or partially blind? Do u think I may have to have the eye removed? I truely hope not but I always fear the worst :( . I feel so bad for him and he looks so sorry for himself. Its weird cause Taz always gives the toys, bones whatever up to Junior when ever Junior wants them with out a complaint but this time Taz wanted to keep it.
It hasn't been 24hrs yet but does look a lot better then when it first happened. I am a real worry wart so any advice would be greatly appreciated. My husband thinks I'm being overly parinoid cause he does look a lot better. Just thought I would ask u all.
thankyou
ttfn :)
Edit: To say my vet called me and I explained everything and she told me to keep doing what I am doing. If the eye gets worse by Monday to bring him in. Today is Sunday morning and he has it more open today and looks a lot better. I do think he may be partially blind in his eye (it looks more like a dent across his pupil but no puncture which is good). barely any discharge and he is more happy today. I'm very thankful for that. :)
