Hi All
I posted a message yesterday about my westie pup Hamish, he is brilliant with his pooh, he always manages to do this on the paper if we are not around and will go out into the garden when we are in. It is his weeing that we are having a problem with, he seems to wee an awful lot sometimes he will go 4-5 times in around 20 minutes, i did ask the vet when he went this week but he said some puppies do not always empty their bladder in one go and then they let out another lot in a short period.
I have got newspaper around which he is using but he still has accidents on the tiles in our conservatory i have tried the simple solution odor remover but he seems to not take any notice of this, somebody on another post said about white vinegar but when we went shopping this morning all i could see in the supermarket was distilled vinegar is this the same? I mixed some of this up but he just licked at it so i assume i have got the wrong stuff, can anybody suggest anything else that is good that i could try, i am wanting something that will put him off of going back to the same spot but up to now nothing seems to warn him off.
I know he is only 11 weeks old and he will not be housetrained quickly but i am wanting to get rid of the smell of his urine before he gets his smell around for too long.
Thanks
Helen

Hello,
You need white vinigar. But i think in your post that this will be too late .What you need to do is one thing. Put the carpet away and see if the pee went into the concrete. If so then good luck. There must come a new floor on it. WHy?? If you do change just the carpet the smell will not go away. Only a new concret. It's expensive. Nextthing is you need a crate when you are not home. Why?? Then he does make on one spot. If you do not want to crate him then put him in the bathroom. Close the door and give him plenty of stuff to chew on. A dog can chew quiet the room down if he is bord. And that not thrue the initre house. The dog will now make everytime on the same spot. The toilet training is done with age of 5 month. but still accidents can happen.
If you do want to sell one day the house and people do smell the pee they will not buy it. Unless you go under the prize.
I wish you deeply luck. A pup is a lot of work. Chewing is done with age of 2 years. But be aware. Some pups do chew their initre live.
