Does anyone know of any breeds that are known to patrol their property. I am looking to aquire a new member of our household to look after myself and the whippets, we have a large place and children for the dog to look out for?

Hi Vanya,

When you say patrol, do you mean just a guarding breed that will give warning and put off intruders?

You will have to be careful, because you don't want to encourage aggression or guarding in the breed you get, especially if you have young children, you know what kids are like. They do first and then think later and you might be in for a few problems. :)
