hello,I hope someone can help me. Ive had a yorkie for 12 years now and hes always been in good health(except some ear infections) I got him groomed and a week later I took him in to have a bunch of teeth pulled out. About 3-4 days later he came down with this cough, hes been to the vet 5-6 times so far, first the vet said he had asma, then he thought it was broncitis, and now he thinks hes got em phsemnia, the vet also said he has a heart murmer.Hes been on antibiotics 2 times, once for his teeth and then again for a bladder infection. the vet thinks he needs breathing treatments and we are now waiting on a doggie mask for that. the vet said to give him robitussinMD for the coughing(its very hard) is there anything else that could be wrong with him? or maybe I can give him? i also think he may have tape worms, I told the vet and he said not to worry about that now, can they make him cough?please help!!!!

Hi Kami,
It is very distressing when a dog is ill, especially an older one. Tape worms do not make dogs cough. If your vet is telling you not to worry about that now I expect he or she believes that a wormer should not be given until your dog is well again.
Lots of things can make dogs cough. Kennel cough. Heart problems. If you trust your vet then I would continue with the treatment advised.
