When I was at agility last night (first lesson-it was great) I patted Thistle under her chest. I felt a lump, but couldn't see what it was (it was nearly pitch black by then) and, without thinking, pulled it off. It came off quite easily, but she has been left with a small red puncture wound and a slight swelling underneath. Do you think it was a tick? how can I tell if any of it is left? and what about that disease someone was talking about on another post about ticks?? Please help.
