I was just on another thread and someone mentioned about visiting each other to wear the puppies out.
Darcy goes to puppy classes but only for half an hour one day a week and she doesnt really get to play which I know she would love to do.
Does anyone live in or near Northampton that has a playful dog they could do with wearing out????????

Yes I do live in Northampton but we have no dog yet! I am hoping to have a lab puppy later in the summer. Which training class do you go to? We've been recommended to the one at Cogenhoe. With our last (rescue) dog we went to one at Moulton.

I take Darcy to the one at Moulton and we're getting on really well.
We only go there because I live in Moulton
Would be interested to hear about the Cogenhoe classes because the Moulton ones are on a Friday night!!!!!!!!!

Apparently the classes are in Cogenhoe Village Hall on Thursday nights starting at 7pm. However, I haven't been, it's just a recommendation from one of the local breeders. If you do go and have a look, let me know what you think! Thanks.

Hi
I'm no good to you as we live in Stamford but I'm having the same dilemma. I just posted so you got some sort of response!!
No-one lives nears us not fair!!! I'm tempted to put a notice in the pet shop window 'young unattached plaything seeks friend for play' or something like that :D
We just don't seem to be having much luck with socialization either. It's so nice to see him whizzing about with another dog and not me for a change :)
Oh well good luck and if you have none if you drive well have to meet in the middle

Hey this is just a thought but it worked for me.
Go to the vets; the one you had your puppy injected at worked for me because I'm registered with them.
They already run a puppy solicilazion clas, but that stops after a few weeks or so, found it hard to find pups around Sal's age for us to either walk with or interact with.
Wrote a short message on card went to the vets. Asked the receptionist to pass on the note to people who were at the puppy class, I supplied to stamp and envelope but the receptionist wrote the address and posted them out. (I wouldn't want a stranger to have my address so this was the best option)
It worked we now have a hard core of 4 who we meet often and walk one of Sal's best friends is a St Bernard :) We got others to who the receptionist told passing on my mobile number to them, if they mentioned anything like looking for friends for their pups.
Don't know if this would work for you. But it can't hurt.

Yeah might give that a try.
My vets didnt offer puppy classes but I'm sure thye must have other clients with young dogs.
Perhaps I'll put a card up on the board or something
