Hi,
Just recently our 2 year old GSP has started to dribble a little but today when I came in she had wet the carpet where she was lying. She was spayed a year ago now and I have read on this site that this might lead to incontinence, but I thought that this happened when the bitches became older, not in a youngster. Could this be the cause, or could it be an infection she has picked up? Also, would this not have happened just after the spaying?
Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Cher,
It's worth getting her urine checked in case she's picked up a bit of an infection, but it could also be as a result of the spaying. The operation can weaken the muscles in that area so they don't function properly. :( Hope she's okay. :)

It can sometimes happen when the bitch would have been in season and stops after a few weeks. But do check for infection first, if it is the spay then she can be given hormons to replace the ones her body is no long making, sort of canine HRT, they do help in most cases. Agree if she is only 2 you do not want a wet floor for years to come. See the vet and I hope that one way or another they can help.
