Hello, i have a rescue bitch (Dobermann) of about 7 years of age (maybe 6) and have just rescued a 9 month old male puppy dobe (not castrated). But i used to live with my ex boyfriend who owns a 8 or 9 year old rescue male dobe. We still talk and socialise the dogs but since introducing the puppy the older male is not reacting very well. Am i being silly to assume the older dobe will accept the pup? The older dog stays with me at times and i'm willing to take on all 3 when asked but am desparate not to get the puppy scared by a big row. The old boy has arthritis and i'm not sure thats the problem just that the bitch has always been his if you like. Anyway if anyone has any great ideas on how to get the boys to get on as the puppy is also very nervous of dogs full stop! (but is getting on ok with the bitch) Many thanks if anyone replies i'm desparately wanting them all to get on happily. Dee.
