My GSD X Lab has taken to munching through the soil in my house plants, and even the soil from the pots outside. It is only the sly mouthful, but it is getting more regular. Do you think this can do her any harm? Could she be lacking some mineral which I could supplement he diet with. She is fed on James Wellbeloved for older dogs (she is about 9). Otherwise she is happy & the healthly, the same as always.

I've searched the site for soil related posts, but have not really found an answer - just lots of info on poo!!

Thanks in advance for your help.
Keep Smiling

My dogs eat soil from pots outside as well, and a special treat seems to be to dig a little hole in the garden and eat the nice fresh soil out of it!
It has never done them any harm, never upsets their stomachs etc, so I just let them get on with it.
As long as your dog is not eating excessive amounts of soil, I wouldn't worry about it.
