I have a 14 month old border collie cross bitch. She has done basic obedience training, and can do some agility, however strangely enough she doesn't enjoy it much. WHat she does like though are tennis balls. She lives for her tennis ball, and it is almost and obsession, she constently asks us to throw it, carrying it everywhere with her. She has tried fly mouse, but as yet she doesn't have any idea about it, but I am sure that if she was catching a tennis ball she'd learn in two seconds flat! She is incredibly fast when running too, I have yet to meet a dog which can keep up with her ( well we have never met any greyhounds or whippets, but you get the idea.) I was wondering if she would be a suitable candidate for flyball training. Are there any requirements? Does any one know of any teams in the new forest in hampshire?

Hello Lucy,
Sorry, I don't know of any flyball clubs in hampshire but she does sound as if she'll make a good flyball dog. You say she loves tennis balls but isn't interested in agility, have you tried running her with a ball in your hand? How long have you been training in agility? It took one of my affs almost a year before it suddenly clicked in her mind that agility was fun, especially getting her toy after a run.

Hi Lucy :)

Try the website of the British Flyball Association.
Loads of contact details and info. You will probably be able to find some classes in your area.

Good Luck

Ali :)

Hi again Lucy!
I've been looking around and there's a club that trains in Hampshire, don't know how close or far away it is to the new forest.
Someone emailed me with the details.
