Hi This is my first visit and I hope I can get some advise. I am hoping to find a young lab bitch to fit in with the family (kids, dogs, chickens & ponys)!! that we can have fun with, maybe show a little and perhaps breed from. I have heard of one for sale but she seems to already have had more than 1 home. I have got her KC reg.No. and name and the name of her breeder and would like to check out the breeding - hips, elbows etc before making the journey to see the dog - I just know I'll want to bring her home when I see her even if she's not suitable, so any advise on how to get this information first will be a great help.
Any takers... Thanks Jackie@creativeprintables.freeserve.co.uk

Hi Jackie, is this dog still with the breeder. If so, they should have copies of the hip scores and eye certificates for both the sire and dam of the dog. Any reputable breeder will be only too pleased to tell you the hip score results and if they haven't had hip and eye testing done, I would steer clear of them. Is this an older dog, would it be worth waiting for a puppy. You should be able to view a puppy from about 4 weeks and put a deposit down for one. Then you can visit weekly up to when you collect the puppy at 8 weeks. Although a puppy is hard work, it will mould into your family life and you can train it from scratch. Do post again as there are many helpful people on this site who can give you lots of advice.
