I have a 3 year old chihuahua - Monty. For the last 6 months he hasnt been very well at all and today after further tests they have found that he has a liver problem. Can anyone advise as to whether this is a common problem.

I have been given 3 options on his treatment.
1. More tests to see how much of the liver is functioning and to go from there.
2. An ultra scan to see what growths etc are on the liver and then to treat as is needed.
3. A biopsy which would find everything out but ofcourse that is the most at risk procedure.

Has anyone been in the same situation and can give any advice.
I intend to talk to the vet tomorrow with my list of questions.
