Me again
I have just thought of something else thats driving me mad.
Over the last few months, very slowly, my clothes are turning pinky in places. Best way I can describe it is if they have had bleach splodged on them :( My black/brown jeans now have pinky splodges on and hubbys dark jumpers/ t shirts etc are the same.
I use Persil tablets that go straight into the drum. Could this be bleaching things. Although these tablets are supposed to go in the drum.
I am getting fed up now, coz everybodys clothes are getting ruined :(
Has anyone else had this problem? Could it be my mavhines had it?

Ali - it could be the Persil tab's. I tried them once and hated them. Now use Fairy non-bio and it's great. Got ot be a cheaper option to try firt before replacing your machine;)

Hi Pam :)
Do you use tablets or the liquid pouches? I try to avoid using the drawer for powder because the waters so hard around here. But I can't have all of our clothes ruined :(
Im going to send all my ruined stuff to Persil for testing :D
Although it will probably cost the same in Postage as it would for a new wardrobe of clothes :D
Ali :)

I use either Daz or Persil ..the powder that goes IN the drawer. The water around here is so hard that the kettle (a clear one) has to be cleaned out every day , but I put some CALGON in with the washing powder every time I wash :)

Wishing I had a washing machine that works. (sigh) Still waiting for the part to arrive. My clothes are begining to stand by themselves.

Hi Melody,
My dear son got me a bottle of Dune for Christmas, bless him, and it doesn't suit me at all! :( I've no idea what to do with it!

I could always take it of your hands for you :D I LOVE Dune ..my favourite scent ;) :D
Mel

I was always told by the Hoover crew (both parents worked for them) Tablets in the drawer as they can bleach if contact is kept with an article, and drum for liquid as this can clog the machine over time.
Joan :)
I've just started using the Ecover powder (they also do liquid), I no longer get white patches on my clothes and it is better for the environment.
Do you need to use the Calgon stuff every time, or does it depend on your water, are they tablets? where do you put them?

Ali - I use the powder tablets but live in a nice softwater area:D
Good luck with the testing at Persil - let us know how it goes - you never know - you might get a whole new wardrobe from them;)

I have an automatic washer, while I was away last year my 25 year old son had to do his own washing, broke the handle trying to get his cloths out all turned pink, we have not been able to get a new latch,so now the only way to get it to work is hit it in the right place it works a treat, this is the reason given that no one else can do the washing.

I use bold aqua tablets, BUT although u get two in a pack, i only ever use both if its a really filthy wash, other than that i only use one per wash, lasts longer, great since im a cheapskate, still cleans stuff, adn smells lovely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! mmmmmm nice.
Anyone know how to make the hairs come off clothes when u wash em, mine come out complete with (clean) dog hairs!

Don't have a tumble dryer :( - just dogs' hair :)
Daisy

Mine's out on the line, hoping the wind will blow the hairs away......so git-features up the road has lit his bonfire to burn some plastic sacks

Here we go again! :(

Hi Ali, the persil tabs did the same thing to my husband's black jeans so stopped using them. Also found the powder made my machine smell a bit a few years ago but I think they took that particular powder off from sale. I use ariel liquid tab things now with no probs.
