Lorna - you need to know what file type/software packagethe attachment has been done in. You need to have either the same package or somethng that will read the file type. For example - if it's a Microsoft Excel file you will either need M$ Excel or the downloadble M$ Excel viewer package. If it;s maybe a graphics file then check what the file extension is and that you have a compatible piece of software. Go to "My Computer", "View", "Folder Options" and select the "file types" tab and "new type". In the "associated exyension" box type a dot followed by the file extension for example .jpg, then click on "new" and a "new action" dialogue box wil, open. In the first line type in "open" without the ""'s then in the second line using "browse" locate the package you want to open that type of file. Click "OK" all the way back and that should then do it. The attachement should then show as an icon that you can double click to open it. If not, and it can happen, save the file by right clicking on the icon and selecting save as.... then by going through my computer or windiws explorer, selct the file and open it from there.
