Topic Dog Boards / Health / Boosters

The time is coming up for my ebt to have his first yearly booster and I am debating to let him have it or not. So many people have different opnions on boosters and I don't know if I should let him have it. I have read up about stories of dogs who have had problems who did have boosters and ones who didn't so I am aware of the risks. We had a gsd years ago who only had her first jabs and she was fine and lived till she was 15 without visting the vet once! I would like to hear anyones view on boosters and maybe some help to come to a decision.......thanks

Hi , this subject comes up quite regularly on the Forum ...if you would like to see some past views and discussions just use the Search facility on here and type in the word BOOSTER

HTH

Melody :) - Hudson has his booster during February with no problems :) Also remember that most kennels will not take a dog who has not been vaccinated

Not forgetting some insurance policies become void if your dogs are not routinely vaccinated

I'm glad you are giving this issue some thought. No offence to the other two replies but problems do not always occur in the first few days, weeks or even months after vaccination. Pumping in so many diseases year after year is a big overload which can eventually destroy the immune system.

And anyone who bases their decision on the small print in an insurance policy or the requirement for boarding has, to my mind, got their priorities wrong.

No offence taken Joyce ..though I have owned dogs for over 30 years off and on , AND had them all vaccinated and boosted yearly with no discernable problems
