Topic Dog Boards / Health / Update on Kylie's Eye

Unfortunately the gland in Kylie's eye has come out of place altogether today, so unfortunately it means she is going to have it removed completely now.
At vet's on Monday to discuss when next op can take place.:( How much time should we allow between op's, it's four weeks since last one.

So sorry to hear that Alison :( After meeting her last week, I can say that she's gorgeous and doesn't deserve ny more bad luck in her life. I think (and someone can correct me if I'm wrong) that a GA can be re-administered once the system is free of the previous, so four weeks should be fine

Thanks Joan:)

I thought about four weeks would be ok just wanted a bit of reassurance.

Hi Dollface
I followed your advice of keeping her calm and not jumping about, and after the first week I was really hopeful, as that's when they usually pop out if they are going to. At least I can say I tried the alternative first, sadly for Kylie it didn't work:(

I'm so sorry Alison. Sometimes these things just seem meant to happen. As to how long between ops, I can only say you must be guided by your vet.

At least u tried, very sorry :(

Will u have to put drops in her eye's all the time now? Hope her eye's are not hurting her any. Poor girl she has been through so much all ready :(
Wish u 2 the best :)

thanks for the replies everyone

Dollface about the drops I'm not sure, seeing vet in morning so will find out then. I do know though there is a greater chance of suffering from "dry eye" in later life.

Alison:( (feeling sad)

Had that much on my mind today i've forgot to post and let you know what the vet said today ( bad mummy)

Kylie is having another p on her ye and is having the gland removed this time, she goes in next monday:( It iwll be 6 nearly 7 weeks since the last op. Doesn't time fly

Alison ( nervous wreck again)

I'm sure she will do just fine. I would remove the gland too if the tack down never worked on T-Bone. The only thing T-Bone had wrong with her was the eye gland and she was 8 months.

Wishing u 2 the best :)

ttfn :)
