Could someone explain the purpose of the kennel club and what you can use a puppy registration form for?
Thankyou!

Hello Caramel, Your question will stimulate alot of discussion, I think, and I'm unlikely to cover everything in one little message. However here's a start, the Kennel Club is the ruling body of organised Dog activity in the UK. It organises Crufts Dog Show, provides a central register of puppies born, and regulates and licences Dog Shows in general. It is generally accepted that a Kennel Club registered puppy is more desireable than an unregistered puppy, and this fact is expected to add monetary value to the pup.
A puppy registration certificate is your 'proof' that a puppy was born on a certain date, to particular parents whose ancestry can be traced. You need the certificate when you have health checks done, and puppies bred from an unregistered dog/bitch cannot be subsequently registered with the Kennel Club.
Thats just one or two things to be going on with, others will be along shortly with more, I'm sure.

I think they also monitor the amount of litters a bitch has too ( to some extent) . As if she has more than the KC stated they will not register them . plus provide lots of information
