Further to my earlier post in the Visitors section, I have been researching my bitches pedigree in the search for a stud. A few champions in there! How can I find out if her Grandad and Great Grandad are still around? I have their names and KC numbers - will the KC tell me?

Given the names and numbers of the dogs, the KC will be able to tell you who bred them and who was their last registered owner (unless it comes under the Data Protection Act)

Failing that, people in the various breed clubs would likely know.

The KC will be able to tell you the year the dogs were registered by the dogs KC reg. number. I doubt they will be able to tell you if those dogs are still around. If you have the dogs names you can type them into a search engine and you will get more info on those animals, especially if they are Champions.

Found her Gt Gt Granfather who was one of the top dogs around! Have contacted his breeder and owner (who has a large Ridgeback Stud) to see if he has a good relative I can use. Keep your fingers crossed!
