we are considering getting a springer spaniel dog, that is 6 months old. he is a runt so is fairly small. we know how to look after a dog and it will get plenty of exercise, however my parents have a few concerns. we want a type of dog that doesn't smell too bad, for a start, or moult too much because my dad is allergic to dogs. do u think this dog would be reasonably ok?

I work with people with breathing problems, many of whom are allergic to dogs, but because they want a dog, get one anyway. 3 months later they end up rehoming the dog. Please think hard before committing to a dog....a spaniel is not very smelly, but they do shed, and it s likely to cause a problem. some dogs are better for allergies, poodles for example. but there are no guarantees. please think hard before getting a pooch under these circumstances, it often ends in tears.
