We have a problem our dog will not mate a bitch she is experianced four year old brood bitch and he is 15 months old and it is his first time!
The bitch is standing for the dog but he just won`t mount her he pays her some interest sniffing,licking ect then with out even trying to mount he walks away.
what can I do??

Trust your dog he knows best she probally isn`t ready yet!

If the dog is making no attempt to even mount the bitch (whichever end), then I agree she probably isn't ready.
When he starts trying to mount her, he may be a bit unsure at first as to what is the correct method if it his first time.
It's important to try & remain calm at this time so the whole experience is quite natural for him. He will probably mess about to begin with. Have you had experience of matings before?
I would try every day until interest is shown.
