can anyone tell me why the symbols on a keyboard are not where they should be?
my @symbol is on number2 and various others are in different places,but i cannot find my pound anywhere.also the euro on number4 is at the lower right of the number how do i get this up as shift doesnt do it?

Wow, your keyboard is different to mine! My @ is above the apostrophe, and my £ is above the 3. (I don't know how to use the euro sign either - luckily I've never had to!)

Got it! To get the € (see, it works!!) hold down the Alt Gr key at the same time.

I *think* you may have got hold of a US keyboard .....the @ is on the 2 button on them ..have a look here ...Keyboard Layouts and click the US English one ...

Hi,

Yes your keyboard is set on the American layout. Try pressing Alt and Left Shift together to change back to english (as this changes the locals).

edited: just thought i might mention that it may not work on some computers if they have not been set up to allow local shifting.

you can also change it to english by clicking on start, then settings, then control panel, then keyboard , then change it to english in the language tab
