Hi
My Westie was approaching her second season and we were having a short holiday so, because we don't intend to breed her, our vet gave her an injection to postpone the season for up to 3 months. That was about 3 weeks ago. She is now showing some signs of being in season - losing interest in her food, trying to mount our lab and generally being 'hormonal'! All things she only did when she was in season before. She has also been cleaning herself. However, she doesn't appear to be bleeding. My question is could she be in season proper?? or could these just be symptoms ocurring without her season taking place just because of the timing? I don't want to keep her indoors for no reason because she adores her walks, but equally I don't want to take any risks. I did take her out today and the one male dog we did meet showed no interest in her. He was more interested in my Lab bitch who, since her first season, has been non-stop irresistable to males !!! In fact she has been unanimously voted the girl most boys would like to date in our local fields, though I must say she is also the most outrageous flirt!!! Sorry I have digressed!
