I noticed out of my dogs Dozer the one with the rectal prolapse I have to give him a fibre laxitive everyday. I give him 1/4 of a teaspoon mixed with 1 teaspoon of canned puppy food, and well not one of the dogs will eat his poo but he eats there's and they eat everyone else's. Taz does not eat poo at all only my boston's do. Could it be the fibre laxative or the canned puppy food or both that stop the other's from eating his poo? If so could I give my other dogs the fibre laxative or do u think it would give them the runs or cause something else?

Fibre Laxative: psyllium hdrophilic mucilloid (it is dry form and unflavored)

What do u think?

ttfn :)

Don't think it's the canned puppy food putting them off. It's never stopped mine! :D

I was told recently at a puppy training school that if you add pineapple to the dogs food it stops them from eating poo, it seems to work with my puppy at the minute. Just add one pineapple chunk to every meal and apparently during digestion it reacts with something and makes their poo smell so terrible to them that they won't eat it.

I did do that for awhile and well T-Bone just couldn't wait to grab it while they were going. Yuck!!!

I'm planning on getting some of that Deter or Forbid from the vets next month sometime, plus now that it is nicer out I'm do a lot more clean up.

ttfn :)
