My Dachshund Pees every time I try to put his leash on. or sometimes when I look at him. I have two dogs both 2 years old the other one pees and marks his territory,and does not pee when I put his leash on.
Rocket does not mark his territory. For the most part he doesnt even lift his leg is this unusual????. This started happening about 4 months after he was neutered in the summer.

He now pees when I try to put the leash on him in the moring to take him out for a pee. I try to trick him and pick him up and then gently put it on sometimes it works.
It is like he can't stop when he starts I try to distract him while he is doing it but he walks and pees at the same time.
I am so frustrated I have tried crating him putting his leash on in the crate and he still pees
I have tried ignoring him also. I am going to take hime to the vet to rule out a bladder infection.
I would appreactaite any info or tips to change the behavior of my dog please anything anything anything

You sound a bit desperate :)

Good idea to get him checkedout by a vet, that is a great first step. If he is given the all clear, then what may be happening (and bear in mind that there may be many X factors here - because email communication isn't always easy) is that for some reason he associates the lead with something not very nice and is peeing for that reason.

If that is the case, then it would be up to you to work out what has happened, or what is happening, to make him do this. I am not an expert on Dachshunds at all, but I know they can get bad backs - could it be that he associates the lead with a walk, and it hurts his back? Or has he been accidentally jerked on it and it scares him now?

Just a few ideas to start anyway :)
