Topic Dog Boards / Health / grooming a Irish water spaniel
- By jasper [gb] Date 10.09.01 20:04 UTC
Please can you help me i am going to be grooming an Irish water spaniel for the first time. The owner says she wants me to clip the body but after reading about this breed i think it will not look very nice, and also what blade would I use. Could you give be any info that could help me. Oh the reason she wants the dog clipped is that she says ut gets very dirty in the country.

thanks

Presumably this is a pet dog that gets dirty. The Irish is not meant to be clipped out but neither are OES or afghans and most groomers do them to oblige the owners. A skiptooth would do the job, short face , feet , poodle pup type clip really , or use scissors and hand trim. Stevie.
