We would like to buy a puppy, (we have 2 small children). After doing much research I had decided that the beagle was for us. But then I found this website and saw a few very negative stories. I am happy to put in the effort with training, but am concerned that I work in the mornings, would this be a problem?
Any advice would be welcome.
Thanks Janet

hello,
I'm not an expert on this but have read that beagles, being a pack dog doesn't like to live alone so could be noisy with howling. maybe somebody else could give you a more solid answer, good luck anyway.

I have a beagle and to be honest she is very hard work. She requires alot of exercise and if she doesn't get it she goes mad, running round etc, she rarely sleeps in the day like other pups, she just keeps going all the time. I love her to bits as her character and size is ideal but i have no children and i take her to work with me. She hates being left alone as the person previously said, they are pack animals and prefer being with people or other dogs. Also you need a good sized, well fenced garden to give them freedom. I previously had three labradors and they were nowhere near the work that the beagle is.
