Hi Guest , once you have made sure that your bitch is an outstanding example of her breed , and then has had ALL the relevant health checks , I would suggest that you contact her breeder , they will be able to help you choose a mate for her bearing in mind their own breeding programme :)

There were something an enormous number of Labs bred last year ......and Lab rescue is always full so breeding needs careful consideration :)

I cant believe Ive read this three days into a season and you expect someone to allow you to use their dog without any research into pedigrees health checks or anything all I can say is I hope you dont find one.
Breeding dogs is not something to be done on a whim if you intend breeding it should be too produce healthy well bred dogs .You say anyone who has a KC reg chocolate dog no mention of wether the dog should tie in to the pedigree or not or wether its a good dog.

You really have left it too late for this season. No REPUTABLE stud dog ownere would consider allowing their dog to be used on an unknown bitch at such short notice.

Apart from Hip Scoring, Elbow Scoring and eye testing you will need an unbiased opinion as to her quality in order to select the best partner to produce quality puppies with as many of the breeds virtues as is humanly possible. Producing pups with Excellent Health and temperament goes without saying.

To this end it will require studying the pedigree of dog and bitch to not only see if they are compatible in looks and health, but also that their ancestors do not have similar faults and failings.

A good first step would be to join your National breed club, and with Labs the nearest regional one. Here you will learn more about the breed in order to determine if breeding from your bitch is right ofr you, her and the breed. :D
