I am in Australia MY partner and i wish to purchase and show a Bloodhound
however I know very little of breed apart from information sheets i have found on the interent.

I would like some information on training and showing from a experianced breeder
or handler, my main concern is people i have spoke to in Australia all seem to be of the opion that a bloodhound will not return on command when in the field, I feel if this is so maybe they are lacking in thier training or perhaps it is a trait of the breed "thier nose rules thier head" when on a scent. I would very much like a answer to this question and hopefuly "how to train" in this respect.
my e-mail address is biteme_johnr49@yahoo.com
thank you

Correct...bloodhounds are not good at returning when you call them. ALL bloodhounds whether bred for the ring or the field, are from the same stock and the scent hound instinct over rides everything. If you care to email me I will put you in contact with some good bloodhound breeders in Australia.
