At what age should i start to intoduce adult food. Our pup is still only 6 months old but i wondered if you gradually introduce the adult food so you dont upset the dog. Also his lunch will be getting cut soon, should i do this gradually also, i.e. less for lunch more for dinner until lunch is cut out altogether.

Hi David,
Sorry I can't remember what breed you have, but I'm guessing beagle! I would do what you are thinking, at 6 months gradually (over a couple of weeks) swop him over from puppy to junior food, and gradually cut down the size of his lunch and increase his breakfast and dinner accordingly. (I generally give my lot a Bonio for their lunch just to keep the wolf from the door!)

Good luck! :)

When my pup was 6 month- I just straight divided her meals into three rather than 4 and fed at around 8am, 3pm and 8pm:) She's now 11 month old and still fed on puppy/junior- I will be changing to adult sometime between 1 year and 18months:) She's a GSD- not sure if this applies to smaller dogs who mature quicker or not?
