My lab has the runs, and I'm wondering if I should just feed him some rice or with his dinner? Also, how much rice? He's 1 1/2 and weighs about 70 lbs. Any other home remedy suggestions? He's only had this afternoon, so I'm going to wait to take him to the vet. Thanks!

I would try chicken and rice. I think you may need to give your dog more fibre.

Thanks very much. He's also really, really gassy (so lovely!), and although his appetite is fine, he keeps whining.

It could be that he is being slightly overfed Sammy! My dogs pass a lot of wind and tend to get the runs when I have overdone the feeding. A day without food (just water) has always done the trick.
