My boxer puppy has started growling at strangers I try to introduce her to. She is fine if introduced in a house and she is on the floor, then it is her who makes the first move but if outside and in my arms she growls at them. What is the best thing to do here. She has another 10 days before she can walk outside. She seems frightened of people coming at her. Should I keep taking her out or leave it till she can meet them on foot. I dont know what the best thing is to do.
Young pups whilst in their box with littermates often growl and make noises when strangers approach but stop after their initial complaints.
Your pup might be doing this because she is overwhelmed by them (and you may be tightening your arms when people approach). I would be inclined to keep her within your house and garden as there is no real need to take her into the outside world yet - let here expand the boundaries of her world at her own pace.

She seems a bit young for the protective instinct to have kicked in yet.My Boxer didn't become wary of strangers untill he was around 6 years old, before that EVERYONE was his best friend!!
