Hello
I have a beautiful 8 month old female basset hound, but just recently she has started to become aggressive to all members of the family. I know bassets are hard to train and she does respond to sit, stay, lie down but as people stroke her she growls and shows her teeth. This follows by her trying to bight, she is in season at the moment and wonder if this has anything to do with it? It is becoming a major problem, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks emma

If this has just started with her season I would say the two are related. There is a chap at our ringcraft that breeds bassets and he has one that does not want to know anyone and gets very bad tempered during her season. Bitches can get very hormonal just like women:) Wait until the season has ended and see what she is like then, give her a week for her hormones to settle and then you'll be able to see whether you have a problem or not.
