I have a 3 month old Pomeranian. My dog looks bad. It has lost just about all his hair. I am wondering if I got what I paid for. Somebody please tell me that he will grow his hair back into a nice full Pomeranian coat. Should I wait it out out or did I receive a bad breed.

Please take your puppy straight to the vet. It may have a flea allergy, or some skin condition causing this and will need treatment.

Hi i too agree with taking the puppy to the vets to get it checked just to be on the safe side. If it helps put your mind at rest i too was concerned as you are as i have 4 poms all young. when they started to loose there fluffy fur i thought the same as you are thinking now but my eldest who is 6 months old is looking really nice again. Although she is still not fully coated again as to how she was, it is at least thick a good thick undercoat and her outer hair is begining to grow longer too although it dose seem to be a slow progress. It is a shock to see your bundle of fluff go to an almost smooth haired looking dog but it dose come back.

By 3 months is it about 12 to 15 weeks. They lose all their coat at this time and get a mask on their face which most of us call the monkey stage!! It could be just that it's about to change its coat. They look absolutely awful at this point.

When you say its lost all its hair is it bald or has it just gone really short?

Take it to the vets to make sure that it hasn't got any problems. I wish you all the best.

This is called the ugly stage which all pomeranians go through at that age ! How much coat has he lost if he is practically bald then the vets would be advisable!!!
